The challenge

Where teams get stuck

The problems we're most often brought in to solve.

  1. 01

    Players get lost in menus

Shops, upgrades and settings are buried, and players never discover key features.

  2. 02

    HUD crowds the screen

Too much information competes with gameplay, especially on small phone screens.

  3. 03

    Interface breaks on some devices

Notches, aspect ratios and tablets cause clipped or misplaced interface elements.

Overview

Game UX & Interface Design at VulcanTech

Game UI/UX design is the design of the interfaces and player journeys through which people learn, navigate and spend within a game. VulcanTech designs HUDs, menus, shops, settings and first-time onboarding. Screens are wireframed and prototyped before they are built, validated with players, and handed to engineers as engine-ready assets with specifications for every state, so the interface works across screen sizes and input methods.

Key deliverables

  • Player journey and screen map
  • Wireframes and interactive prototypes
  • Final UI designs for every state
  • Engine-ready UI asset kit
  • UI specification for engineers

What you get

What Game UX & Interface Design includes

  • Player journey mapping

Every screen and transition mapped so key actions take as few steps as possible.

  • Wireframes and prototypes

Clickable Figma prototypes validated before any interface is built in the engine.

  • HUD design

Readable HUDs that show what players need without obstructing play.

  • Onboarding design

First-session tutorials that teach through play rather than long text screens.

  • Adaptive layouts

Layouts that adapt to notches, aspect ratios, tablets and controller input.

  • Engine-ready UI kits

Sliced assets, fonts and specifications for Unity UI Toolkit or Unreal UMG.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can't find what you need? Ask us in the discovery session.

Game interfaces must stay readable during fast action, support controllers or touch, and match the game's art direction rather than platform conventions. They also carry the economy: shops, rewards and progression screens directly affect retention and revenue, so they warrant more player testing than a typical application screen.
