About the client
Maple Leaf Cement
Maple Leaf Cement is one of Pakistan's established cement manufacturers, selling through a wide network of dealers, retailers and building-material shops. Much of its market-facing work, from shop visits and display checks to billboard campaigns, is carried out by field agents spread across many locations, and management depends on their reports to understand what is happening in the market.

The challenge
What needed to change
Field activity was reported by the agents themselves, which made it difficult to prove whether an agent had actually visited an assigned location. Management had limited visibility into routes, shop visits and the time spent at each stop. Manual reports were slow to compile and review and could contain errors. Photo and video evidence carried its own risk: footage could be reused from earlier visits, duplicated between agents, or recorded from another screen instead of captured live in the field. As the field team grew, trust-based reporting no longer gave leadership the reliable picture it needed.
The approach
How VulcanTech delivered
- 01
Map the field workflow
VulcanTech traced how visits are assigned, carried out and reported, and identified where a claim could not be checked against evidence.
- 02
Define the evidence
For each type of visit the team set out what counts as proof: GPS route and dwell time, on-site video, visible branding and readable billboard text.
- 03
Design the verification checks
Computer vision, OCR, video similarity and anti-spoofing checks were designed to validate each submission and compare it with earlier ones within a recency window.
- 04
Build and deliver
Following the technical proposal, VulcanTech built the verification platform and delivered it to Maple Leaf Cement, with AI voice confirmations available as an optional extension.
The solution
What was delivered
The platform adds a verification layer on top of field reporting. Route and dwell-time tracking shows agent routes on maps and calculates time spent at each visited shop. AI video and billboard verification, built on the Google Vision and Google Gemini APIs, analyses retailer and billboard footage and validates the visible content as field evidence. Duplicate video detection flags identical or near-identical submissions, including reuse across agents, while visit history validation compares new evidence with previous submissions within a defined recency period. Anti-spoofing detects media captured from another screen rather than live in the field, and OCR reads billboard and image text to support validation. As an option, AI voice calls through VAPI or Twilio can automate visit confirmations, notifications and reminders.
Capabilities
Inside the platform
Route & dwell-time tracking
Agent routes on a map from real GPS data, with the time spent at each visited shop.
AI video & billboard verification
Retailer and billboard footage analysed with Google Vision and Gemini to validate visible content.
Duplicate & reuse detection
Identical or near-identical videos flagged, including the same footage submitted by different agents.
Anti-spoofing
Detects media recorded from another screen instead of genuine live field activity.
Visit history validation
New evidence compared with earlier submissions within a defined recency period.
OCR & content extraction
Reads billboard and image text to support evidence validation.
The impact
Business outcomes
Accountability
Every visit is backed by verifiable evidence, so claims can be checked rather than taken on trust.
Stronger fraud controls
Duplicate detection, cross-agent reuse checks and anti-spoofing make fabricated visits much harder to submit.
Management visibility
Routes, visits and dwell time give leadership a clear view of field movement and coverage.
Faster, structured review
AI-assisted verification surfaces exceptions for review and turns field activity into structured operational intelligence.
- Agent routes mapped from GPS data, with dwell time calculated for every visited shop
- Retailer and billboard videos verified with Google Vision and Gemini
- Identical, near-identical and cross-agent reused videos flagged automatically
- Screen-captured media detected and rejected as field evidence
- Billboard and image text read with OCR to support validation
