The role
Responsibilities
- Own features end to end, from technical design through release and production support
- Shape system architecture, data models and integration approaches with clients and colleagues
- Write well-tested, maintainable code in React, Node.js and PostgreSQL
- Review code and mentor mid-level engineers on design, testing and delivery practice
- Apply AI tooling to code review, testing and documentation, with full accountability for the output
- Contribute to discovery sessions and estimate work with clear assumptions and risks
What you'll bring
- Substantial commercial experience building and operating production web applications
- Strong command of React, TypeScript, Node.js and relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL
- Sound understanding of API design, authentication, security and performance fundamentals
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD and cloud deployment
- Clear written and spoken English, and confidence working directly with clients
- A track record of mentoring engineers and raising the standard of a codebase
